Mornington Peninsula

The first week of January is my favourite week of the year. On the first day of the new year, for as long as I can remember, we have packed our bags and headed to the family beach house in Tootgarook on the Mornington Peninsula. My entire family, including aunts, uncles, grandparents and cousins, gather there for most of the month to enjoy the beach and spend time together. Noise, sand and food is what the few weeks consist of, and if weather allows, some fishing and jet skiing.

Below are some snaps from a trip down to Dromana with my cousins and mum. The sail boat is not ours however it was quit amusing watching these kids trying to set it up with the wind blowing so strongly!

If you are visiting Melbourne and have a car (or know how to catch trains), head to www.visitmorningtonpeninsula.org  for some hints and tips on what to do and where to stay. It is definitely worth a visit.
