Mid week, I found myself some what overwhelmed by the work load I had landed myself. I felt as though I had committed to the impossible and had given myself the most unrealistic dead lines imaginable.
Over the last 7 days I smashed out a wedding, a catalogue and a business photo shoot, a few meetings with some lovely clients, some shifts at the hospital, a few walks with my mum and dog, contributed to a blog for a camera website (I'll share more once it is published) and even found time to file my nails.
I am pleased to say that I somehow managed to breeze through it all. Well, at least I think I did. In my mind I think I remained sane, however, judging by my intake of chocolate, I was most likely the perfect picture of crazy to on lookers.
Right now I am trying to compensate for my sugar binge by indulging in a fresh tomato and kale salad. It 's making me feel great for the minute. That is until I remember I ate half a jar of Nutella only an hour ago. Last month I attempted to quit sugar completely which I soon realised was not a sustainable way of living for me. I have now limited my sugar intake to "Weekends Only" and have sure made up for my lack of sugar during the week today!
On thursday I had a very inspiring meeting with the creative force behind "For Me By Dee". Daniella inspired me to create a vision board which I have now started and am looking forward to finishing. One of my visions on said vision board is in fact "Finish vision board". Another vision is to complete a weekend blog post. EVERY Weekend. So I suppose I should say Welcome to this new segment to my blog. The Week's End is a summary of my week, which I will post every Friday or Saturday. I am hoping this commitment enables me to give you a better insight in to my life and how I function during the week.
Yesterday, as the week came to an end, I treated myself to some lovely magazines (some of which Daniella actually introduced me to). These mags have proved to be very amusing and inspiring reads filled with colourful photos and light hearted stories. I look forward to reading more over the remainder of the weekend with the scent of my new coconut and lime candle, gifted by my mum, setting the mood.
On that note, and as my tomato and kale salad comes to an end, so does this post. If you are looking for something to read over the remainder of this wet weekend, Frankie, Dumbo Feather and my personal favourite, Kinfolk, have some very lovely stories which are written by and are about real people. You can follow the links to their websites and browse through stories, or order copies from there. In the meantime, stay tuned for some more photos coming in the next few days and enjoy your weekend!
